Raised in smoky card rooms by her poker-playing father (Michael Madsen), Alicia Ace Anderson (Dominique Swain) leaves the world of back-street gambling behind her to enroll at medical school. But with mounting debts Alicia has few options but to return to the casino. But this time she recruits a crack team of fellow students, all highly trained in the art of betting and bluffing.
