The prick punches provide a sharper point for more precise placement, while the center punches create a standard starter dimple. The punches are made from hardened steel and have round shanks that are knurled for grip. The set comes with a plastic case for storage.

Center and prick punches are used to make a dimple mark in materials to guide a drill bit. Manual punch hand tools have a metal shank and a shaped or flat point that is typically tapped with a ball-peen hammer to make a pre-drilling indent.
