Seen on Masterpiece Theatre in 1982 this critically acclaimed miniseries boasts a contemporary storytelling approach. Each of the four episodes takes the viewpoint of a different person close to Lord Nelson. Together, his betrayed wife, the friend whom he cuckolded, the ambivalent captain of his flagship, and an ordinary seaman paint an unconventional portrait of an all-too-human hero. Riveting performances by Kenneth Colley (Monty Pythons Life of Brian), Geraldine James (The Jewel in the Crown), Tim Pigott-Smith (V for Vendetta), and Phil Daniels (Quadrophenia) add to the sexual and political intrigue.
