The ChefMaster commercial 5-gallon salad dryer will dry 5 to 6 heads of lettuce at a time. This unit keeps the lettuce crisp for longer life and better taste. The most expensive part of any salad is the dressing. Dry lettuce allows the user to use about 1/2 the dressing that would be needed on wet lettuce. This salad dryer comes with handles on the side for easy movement, a direct drive system for the drying basket and sealed gears so food cannot lodge into the gears. But what makes this unit stand out in the commercial field besides its heavy duty FDA approved plastic construction, is its patented braking system. When spinning the basket with the lettuce, the users would use the handle to stop the basket. This put a tremendous strain on the gears which would finally break. With the ChefMaster braking system, a simple push of a button pushes down the brake and stops the basket from spinning with no strain on the gears. Because of our design of sealed gears, we are one on only two salad dryers that has received the ETL certification to ANSI/NSF Standard 2 for foodservice and the only one to have the patented braking system.
