Oiling cutters regularly is essential to shredding performance.

Swingline shredder oil is specifically designed to lubricate the cutters in your shredder. Swingline oil is synthetic and will not cause build-up on any shredder parts. The cutters of a well-oiled shredder require less torque to shred effectively. As a result, the cutters move freely and easily to power through the maximum document capacity of any particular shredder model. Swingline synthetic shredder oil can safely be used to lubricate the cutters on any shredder, regardless of the manufacturer. Swingline brand oil must be used on all Swingline or GBC brand shredders in order for the warranty to remain valid.

Standard shredders require manual oiling.

How does it work?

Step 1
Pour a few streaks of oil onto a blank piece of paper. View larger

Shred the oiled sheet. The cutters will be lubricated as the paper passes through.

Run the shredder in reverse to help distribute the oil evenly. View larger

Locate the designated shredder oil reservoir.
