These post caps are made to slip over the top of a 6" x 6" fence or deck post for a decorative finishing touch or to hide irregular post ends. These post caps can be attached by either applying exterior caulk to the under-side of the post cap, or by nailing the post cap to the post with finish nails. As with any exterior product, it is recommended to apply a good quality finish to preserve the wood's natural beauty and protect the post cap.
