The fighting art of Pa Kua Chang was practiced by guerilla Chinese fighters, including Master Lu Shui-Tien, against the Japanese in the Sino-Japanese War. Because the guerilla operations had to remain covert, the guerillas executed Japanese soldiers with traditional bare hand and weapons techniques, without the use of firearms. Park Bok Nam began studying the art of Pa Kua Chang under Master Shui-Tien in 1960, practicing exclusively for 17 years all day, every day with his teacher. In 1987 Park moved to the United States and has been teaching his art to eager students. This volume details exercises to improve Pa Kua Chang footwork, body flexibility, internal energy circulation and internal striking power.
