Reed colour can be reed, green, or black. For those new to the bagpipe practice chanter: You do not place the reed into your mouth. Take the chanter top off of your chanter bottom. The reed goes into the chanter bottom. Place the chanter top back onto the chanter bottom - over the reed. Blow into the chanter top.
