Where most shielded STP Cat5e will feature either foil or braided shielding, our pure copper STP Cat5e cable features both aluminum foil and braided shielding to drastically reduce EMI (Electromagnetic interference) and optimize the signal strength of your network. In the image if you click to enlarge it, you'll also see a thin cellophane wrapper that is common in STP cable to preserve the consistency and shape of the twisted pairs and its shielding. Our Cat5e cable is 1000Base-T (10/100/1000 Mbps, gigabit) so it is ready for today's and tomorrow's massive data needs. The cable also passes UL Standard on both the conductor and the jacket. It is important to know that not all PVC cable is Riser rated. If cable is going to be run between floors in non-plenum spaces, it needs to be rated as RISER cable. Riser rated cable is not as strict as plenum rated cable. What it does mean in simple terms is the toxicity of the materials used in Riser rated cables is safe for everything other than plenum spaces. It is used in shafts from floor to floor or risers, and only CMP (plenum cable) and CMR may be used for these purposes. We've also worked hard on making the pull box as easy to work with as possible.
