Originally released in 1995, Ring Them Bells features live duets with Indigo Girls, Dar Williams, Janis Ian, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Kate & Anna McGarrigle, Mary Black, Mimi Farina and Tish Hinojosa. This "Collector's Edition" 2-CD package includes six previously unreleased songs: three additional solo performances by Joan ("Love Song to a Stranger," "Geordie," "You Ain't Goin' Nowhere"), a second duet with Tish Hinojosa ("Gracias a la Vida"), a second duet with Indigo Girls ("The Water Is Wide"), and a second duet with Mary Chapin Carpenter ("Stones in the Road"), as well as new liner notes by Arthur Levy, Grammy-nominated music historian and researcher.
