This beautiful, long-lasting set of wooden blocks contains many standard shapes and sizes of building pieces making it a perfect starter set for every family. This 42-pieces set is handmade in Germany from solid, natural wood, then stained with certified nontoxic water-based dyes, and finally finished with food grade vegetable oil. from about 18 months, right on up to older kids who will use them as part of their more elaborate structures. Inspired by the philosophy of Waldorf education, Grimm's toys are designed to help children discover and develop their own creativity and leaving plenty of room for independent, open-ended play and imagination. Minimal finishing allows children to experience the natural look and feel of the wood. Includes wood tray which can be used for storage and as a building platform. All corners/edges of blocks and tray are sanded. Safe for Ages 1 year & up. The shapes in this set can be used to build lots imaginative structures, and because they are on a 4x4 scale, these blocks combine seamlessly with other sets with base measurements of 4 cm in thickness.
