The pole should be aligned properly when connecting to make the torchiere work.
Plug the lamp directly to a wall socket.Plugging to a multi-plug connector is not advisable. Due to the Halogen Bulb uses up to a 190 watt of electricity.
There are extra protection on the threads of the Lamp Body Pole which need to be removed before use.
