IMPORTED FROM SOUTH KOREA *** A genuinely FUNNY film, one of the best French comedies, La Grand Vadrouille is the story of the Allied flight crew with Terry Thomas as their captain, who get shot down by the Germans over Paris. After parachuting into the city, they have to get past the Nazi demarkation line separating the North from the South of France, so they can escape to England. This film makes fun of everything and everybody, in a way that today's political correctness would not tolerate-that alone is refreshing, but the joined talents of Bourvil, Terry Thomas, and Louis de Funès, create high-quality comedy. The imported DVD has very good color, sound and picture, is in Widescreen NTSC Region-0 format, in the original soundtrack of French (by the French actors) as well as English (by Terry Thomas), with removable subtitles in English, Korean, or Dutch, 119 minutes.
