In the starry winter night a young pair is skating hand in hand. "Ice dancing on the lake" is the motif for the annual Christmas Series from Bing & Grøndahl, decorating both plate, bell and drop. The Christmas Plate from Bing & Grøndahl is the world's oldest. This year's motif, which has been created by the Danish artist Jørgen Nielsen, is number 116 in the series.
