This fine silver wire is 99.9% pure silver, unlike sterling silver wire, which is only 92.5% silver. Because of its purity, fine silver wire comes only in dead soft, which is softer even than sterling dead soft wire. For this reason, it is preferred by some wire wrappers for wrapping stones. Fine silver wire is also used for wire fusing techniques--it needs no solder or flux and does not develop firescale, unlike sterling silver. Quantity: Each lot is approximately one ounce in weight, and approximately 120 feet long. May exceed this amount by up to one percent.
