Lead-free Amaco Velvets are opaque underglazes which have the appearance of velvet when left unglazed. When glazed with transparent matte glaze they will assume a soft, satin finish. Cone 05-10.

AMACO Velvet V-361 Jet Black Underglaze (2 oz.) is a cool black liquid ceramic pottery underglaze that is smooth and velvety at Cone 05, darkens at Cone 5, and becomes darkest black and slightly glossy at Cone 10.
AMACO Velvet “V” Underglazes can be applied to bisque and wet/unfired clay.
Apply to wet/bone-dry clay before firing, or on Cone 04 bisque and cover with a glaze before firing to Cone 05-10.
When left unglazed, these underglazes have a soft, velour look. Glaze with clear matte glaze for a satin finish, or gloss glaze to intensify color.
