Amaretti cookies were created by 2 lovers back in the 18th Century to celebrate the visit of the beloved Cardinal of Milan to the town of Saronno. Chiostro slowly bakes a blend of sugar, apricot kernels and egg whites they originated the renowned Amaretti, a round, crunchy bittersweet almond cookie decorated with sparkling white sugar. Chiostro refers to the town center or cloister.
