Grow Giant Orange, Dahlia Flowered Zinnias from fresh Zinnia elegans flower seeds. This heirloom dates back to the early 1900's, and was discovered by John Bodger. A similar selection to that of the Benary's Giant Zinnia, this variety displays beautiful Orange colored blooms that will expand to a large diameter of 4 to 6 inches wide. The flower heads are filled with rows and rows of gorgeous, tightly packed petals. The plants themselves will grow to a mature height of roughly 40 to 50 inches tall. Grown as an annual flowering plant, the Dahlia Flowered Zinnia will grow quickly, bloom profusely and then later die with the first killing frost. This particular strain will grow long stems which makes for a great cut flower. You can use it in floral arrangements and bouquets. The blooms should flower in roughly 75 to 90 days after first sprouts appear.
