These firewood grates are used to lift wood off the bottom of the fire pit for better air flow and easy burning.Note, never cook food directly on the grate. However, it is perfect to use with pots and pans over the fire. A separate cooking grill should be used for barbecuing meat, or other foods that need to be placed directly on a cooking surface.
