This sliding window & door lock is constructed of heavy-duty extruded zinc, and it comes in a white painted finish. It includes dual hex security screws (and wrench) for extra gripping power, and it is designed to fit on older style, metal-framed sliding windows and doors – usually manufactured with single pane glass. Note: These locks will not work with modern vinyl windows, as the lock has only a narrow 1/4 in. opening. This lock can secure a sliding window, or door in a closed or ventilating position, and it can assist in preventing accidental opening by children. For vinyl windows consider using Prime-Line model numbers U-9809 or U-10547. These locks are easy to install, and many use them to increase the security of their home.
