This highly successful situation comedy Petticoat Junction was set in the small farming town of Hooterville. The show focused on Kate Bradley, the widowed owner of Shady Rest Hotel, her three daughters Billie Jo, Bobbie Jo, Betty Jo and good old Uncle Joe. The humorous story lines came from Kate's involvement with her daughters' love lives, her fights with the railroad (CF&W) that ran through Hooterville, her associations with townspeople and her hair-raising money-making schemes. This long-running show was on the top of the charts throughout its seven year stint.
