Ennio Morricone is among the legends of film music composers. He has sold over fifty million albums worldwide and written music for over 200 movies, television shows and classical recordings over the course of 6 decades. His best known works include five Oscar nominations (as well as a lifetime achievement award) for Days Of Heaven, The Mission, Bugsy, The Untouchables and Malena. Ennio Morricone is among the best selling composers alive today. When we got the rights to Red Sonja, we were excited to be able to reissue this wonderful score to the world at large. It's a score brimming with woodwinds and brass, large symphonic melodies, and a chorus that you don't hear in film scores anymore. The score has a definite thematic and memorable melody interweaving itself throughout. This is the kind of score that film music fans get excited about. While the movie was never a big hit, it has achieved a cult following over the years and we feel that it has been a long time coming for this score to have a proper release.
