Pulsatilla (Anemone) Vulgaris (Violet) - A hardy and easy-to-grow plant, Pasque Flower blooms come in shades of light violet. One of the first perennials to bloom in spring, the plant has a thick and fibrous rootstock that becomes woody with age. The majority of leaves develop after the flowers. The entire plant is covered with soft, silvery hairs. The plant remains attractive after it stops blooming, although the leaves may die back in late summer. The 1 1/2? flowers are borne singly on stems 5-8? tall. The bloom color ranges from deep to pale purple and occasionally white. Fertilized flowers produce a spherical seedhead with silky plume-like styles. The attractive silvery seedheads remain on the plant for several weeks until theripe seed is dispersed by the wind. Pasque flower is great in rock gardens or in the front of a perennial garden. Also combines well with spring bulbs or ground covers.

  • FLEXIBLE GROWING REQUIREMENTS: Our Pasque Flower Violet Anemone seeds grow well in USDA Zones 4–8, adapting to various climates. They perform well in both full sun and partial shade, offering flexibility in garden placement. Growing to a height of 12 inches, they fit in various garden designs, from borders to background plantings, and do well in well-drained soil.
  • VIBRANT BLOOMS AND ATTRACTIVE FOLIAGE: Our Anemone plants produce vibrant light violet bell-shaped blooms, bringing color to your garden from summer to fall. Their fern-like foliage stays attractive even after flowering, providing texture and interest throughout the year. These perennial plants add charm to any garden, with appeal whether in bloom or not.
  • SUITABLE FOR CUT FLOWER ARRANGEMENTS: With sturdy stems and vibrant blooms, our Anemone flowers are a good option for creating beautiful cut flower arrangements. Their ability to last in vases ensures they stay fresh and bright for extended periods, making them a solid option for indoor decor or as gifts.
  • SELF-SOWING: Our Anemones are not favored by deer, making them a solid choice for gardens in areas with wildlife. They also self-sow, meaning they drop flower seeds that will grow additional plants each season, allowing your garden to expand with minimal effort. Once established, they require little attention and continue to bloom year after year.
  • PLANTING INSTRUCTIONS: For healthy results, sow 2–4 garden seeds per plant and space them 12 inches apart to allow for healthy growth. Proper spacing helps establish strong root systems while providing enough air circulation. When planting seeds, make sure to keep them moist until germination, and enjoy plants that will continue to grow and bloom each year with minimal attention.
