Cosmos Sulphureus (Red) - Easily grown from flower seed, Cosmos contains bunches of daisy-like flowers and graceful feathery foliage which makes Cosmos flowers a delight in both color and texture. Not only is it a pleasure to look at the flowers, Cosmos is attactive to birds and butterflies as well. Cosmos grows best in full sun, but will grow well and flower earlier in poor, fairly dry soils. All soils should be well-drained for Cosmos to grow well. You do not need to fertilize the plants. Cosmos is one flower you can easily plant from flower seed after danger of frost season has passed. Scatter Cosmos flower seed, lightly cover approximately 1/16th of an inch with soil and keep seed moist until it germinates. Commonly called Klondike Cosmos.
