Video photographer Bert Kersey put up an owl box in his yard, and when two barn owls decided to move in, he attached a telescopic lens to his camcorder and started recording the action. For two years Bert shot the nighttime comings and goings of these magnificent hunters as they raised babies and terrorized the rodents in the neighborhood.

Backyard Barn Owls follows four little owlets from hatching in February through 'flight school' in May, when they must learn to fend for themselves. The narration discusses how to attract owls to your property, building your own owl box, and what you'll find inside those mysterious owl pellets.
