These pads are the proper denseness for use with the metal polish. When polishing metal, a by-product is a dark, black film. It often contaminates pads and cloths making them non-reusable. With these pads however, simply rinse them with warm water and the black mess is gone. Reuse over and over again. Use with the 3 inch random orbital or by hand with the 3 inch foam pad holder. Both attach via the pads hook and loop and make any job a lot easier.
