Product Review
The Baseline tactile monofilament evaluator is used to measure cutaneous sensory perception threshold. Each monofilament represents a unique amount of force and has a fitted protective case enables safe storage and transport.
- Test Sensitivity on Hands and Feet – Tactile monofilaments are pressed against the skin to check for loss of sensation due to nerve damage caused by arthritis, diabetes, neuropathy, and more. Results are then used to create a treatment plan of care.
- Accurate and Repeatable Results – Use different-sized monofilaments to apply unique pressure to the skin and see if the individual responds to the force applied. If not, use the next-larger size to accurately assess the degree of sensation loss.
- Includes Protective Case – Monofilaments arrive in a durable, hard-shell carrying case. The case features molded slots to prevent the nylon monofilament from becoming damaged or bent. Its transparent cover allows for easy identification of the tools.
- Ideal for Clinical or At-Home Use – Test patients in clinical settings, use on friends or family at home, or perform your own self-tests. The medical-grade monofilaments are compact and lightweight enough to carry in a bag and test whenever needed.
- Color-Coded Sensation System – Monofilaments are color-coded for easy clarification of results. Tools are green, blue, purple or red to indicate a unique category of sensation loss.
