ensemble that Reusner published in his short, brilliant career. Apart from its extraordinary
merit on artistic grounds, and its admirable baroque calligraphy, the book occupies an important
place in the history of lute music, coming after many decades of strife in Europe defined by war
and depressed economic & cultural activity.
