Delosperma cooperi is low-growing and spreading, making it an excellent choice for planting under roses or other taller perennials as a ground cover. It loves full sun and sandy, well-drained soil. This variety of Ice Plant, Table Mountain, has deep green, succulent-like foliage and requires little care. It is fairly drought tolerant as well. Sow Ice Plant seed indoors in the spring. Press the seeds firmly into the soil but do not cover. Keep the soil moist until germination occurs. Transplant seedlings outdoors after danger of frost has passed.
