The blue vervain or verbena is a creeping perennial of the mint family, growing close to ground and bearing numerous, small lilac-blue flowers. The term vervain comes from the Celtic ferfaen, from fer (to drive away) and faen (a stone), referring to the plantÃs historical use in treating kidney stones. Our Vervain comes from the US and is certified Organic! Vervain is used in protection and love spells. It is often carried as a protective amulet. An infusion of this herb sprinkled around the house chases off evil spirits and entities. This herb is also often added to exorcism incenses and mixtures. It is said that carrying vervain will bring everlasting youth, and when placed in the bed, hung around the neck or drunk as an infusion before bedtime will keep you from having nightmares.
