If we were to choose an epitaph for David, it would be the closing verse of Psalm 23: "And I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever"; if we were to choose an epitaph for Solomon it would be from the opening lines of Ecclesiastes: "Meaningless, meaningless, everything is meaningless."
