- VERSATILE & ADAPTABLE: Our Blue Bedder Echium plants grow to a height of 16 inches, making them suitable for smaller spaces, containers, or garden borders. They perform well in USDA Zones 3 - 8 and prefer full sun, which helps them produce blooms during the growing season. Their compact size provides flexibility in different planting arrangements, ensuring a consistent display of color.
- ABUNDANT & LONG BLOOM SEASON: As a biennial, our plant starts its growth in the first year and reaches full bloom in the second year. It produces numerous blue flowers from late spring to late summer, offering color to the garden. This extended blooming period means the plant will continue to provide vibrant blooms over several months, enriching the garden throughout the warmer months.
- POLLINATOR ATTRACTION: With their nectar-filled flowers, our Echium plant's blooms attract a range of pollinators, including bees and butterflies. These blooms provide food for beneficial insects and help support local wildlife. The vibrant flowers contribute to the lively atmosphere of the garden, encouraging healthy pollinator populations and adding a dynamic element to the garden landscape.
- LOW MAINTENANCE & SELF-SEEDING: Once established, Echium plants require minimal attention. Simply deadhead spent blooms to encourage additional flowering. They also self-seed each year, meaning you won't need to replant them. Their resilience ensures they continue to grow, making them great flowers to plant outside with minimal effort and reducing the need for extra upkeep in your garden.
- SIMPLE PLANTING: Sow 2 - 3 seeds per plant at a depth of 1/4 inch directly outdoors once frost danger has passed. Space the plants 12 inches apart to allow for proper growth. Giving the plants enough space allows them to develop fully, receive adequate sunlight, and maintain healthy growth, resulting in consistent blooms throughout the growing season.
