A down on her luck Hedda Hopper (Elizabeth Taylor) is enlisted by studio moguls to combat Louella Parsons' (Jane Alexander) Hollywood tabloid reporting. Hedda's gossip mongering catches on quickly, and, before long, her sadistic style propels Hopper to stardom, much to Hollywood's dismay. Parsons doesn't take kindly to anyone trespassing into her domain, especially Hedda, a one-time friend. Their disdain for one another soon becomes very public. Based on true accounts, this film shows the venom that existed between Parsons and Hopper. Their tumultuous relationship rivaled anything they ever reported. Includes actors Tim Robbins, Denice Crosby, and Richard Dysart.
