Product Review
Mina lobata is a climbing vine that is considered to be a tender perennial. In frost-free zones this vine will last year after year. It is commonly referred to as Firecracker Vine, Fire Vine or Spanish Flag. It does best when it is grown on a lattice or similar structure as its twining stems will climb and reach up to 10 feet in height. Mina lobata is a member of the Morning Glory family, and it produces masses of tube-shaped flowers that are shades of red and orange, and the flowers fade to lighter shades. It is quite a spectacular sight! Soak the seed overnight in tap water. Start the seed directly outdoors in early spring after frost danger has passed. Cover the seed with inch of soil and keep moist. Space plants about 12 inches apart. With temperatures ranging from 65 - 70F, germination is usually within 16 days. Grow Mina lobata in full sun and in well-draining soil.
