Upper Arm Blood Pressure Monitors:
There are 3 important steps to follow to get accurate and constant readings:
Cuff size. Measure the circumference of your upper arm and compare that number to the range imprinted on your cuff. If you do NOT fall within that reange you need a different sized cuff.Positioning. Sit in a chair with your arm placed on a table in front of you, feet flat on the floor
Resting Period. Rest at least 5 minutes before taking your first measurement. It is recommended that you place the cuff around your arm first and then rest.
Wrist Blood Pressure Monitors:
There are 3 important steps to follow to get accurate and constant readings:
Cuff size. Measure the circumference of your wrist and make sure your wrist size falls within the size imprinted on the cuff.
Positioning. Sit in a chair with your arm placed on a table in front of you. Place your hand on top of the storage box, so that the unit is on the same level as your heart (very important).
Resting Period. Rest at least 5 minutes before taking your first measurement. It is recommended that you place the cuff around your arm first and then rest.
