The leads one usually buys for mechanical pencils measure about 2 5/8" long. You can, therefore, use those leads in the TwinPoint by breaking them into two pieces. An advantage, perhaps justifying the bother, of using "full-length" leads is that we have a wide variety of hardnesses in black graphite leads, and a few additional colors.
