The Angry Skies is a compelling documentary which follows Blake Kerr--a New York-based doctor who investigated human rights violations for thirteen years in Tibet--as he travels to Cambodia to uncover the truths behind the rise of the Khmer Rouge in the 1970's and their legacy today. Before the international tribunal with the United Nations and Cambodian courts started trying those responsible for genocide committed under Pol Pot's murderous regime, Dr. Kerr traced and interviewed survivors of the S21 torture center, who still fear for their lives. Dr. Kerr and filmmaker Casey Earl first come face-to-face with the precarious culture that permeates the region when they are caught up in the anti-Thai riots that rocked Phnom Penh in January 2003. When their investigations attract the attention of the Cambodian authorities, Hun Sen's secret police start to monitor their activities.

Traveling to Khmer Rouge strongholds with a child soldier and warlord who killed three western backpackers in 1994, Dr. Kerr meets the last remaining architects of the Khmer Rouge regime, including Nuon Chea, Pol Pot's infamous "Brother Number Two." He also uncovers how the Nixon Administration's bombing of Cambodia devastated the people and economy, the chain of command that resulted in the killing of Scottish academic Malcolm Caldwell, and the details of Pol Pot's death in 1998. The Angry Skies gives fascinating and often harrowing insight into how an obscure band of Communist guerrillas used the hatred generated from American bombing to rise to power, evict the "Foreign Devils," and implement one of the worst genocides ever committed by a nation on its own citizens.

The Angry Skies won Best Political Documentary in Los Angeles March 2006, and Best Feature Documentary in New York May 2006, at the New York International Independent Film and Video Festival. The Angry Skies has also shown on television around the world as the international tribunal in Phnom Penh tries of the leaders of the Khmer Rouge Revolution.
