You simply need to plug it into almost any Ridgid vacuum that has an exhaust port, and it will automatically reduce the airflow shooting out of the back of the vacuum to make a quieter environment. Additionally, if you have exhaust shooting out of the back, this can reduce that, creating a more comfortable jobsite overall. It does this without reducing the suction power of the vacuum, too, assuming you're working with a hose that's 20 feet or shorter.
