One end of this adapter is a female socket connector like a car cigarette lighter socket in most vehicles. The other end is a 5.5mm x 2.5mm male barrel connector adapter (round shape connector with 5.5mm outside diameter and 2.5mm insider diameter). Starting from 4/14/2015, the package will also includes a 5.5x2.1mm adapter.

You may use this adapter to change a 12V power source (such as batteries) with 5.5 x 2.5mm female jack to a car cigarette socket so you can use your many car power adapters.

Cautions: This adapter cable is just a connector adapter, it does not have any electronic circuits inside to control electronic voltage/current/polarity. It only provides physical size and shape conversion. Please make sure the power source output is set correctly for your device.

The cable between the two ends is around 4 inches long, made with 18AWG wires, and can handle a maximum of up to 10 Amps current. If you just need bare wires instead of a 5.5x2.5mm connector, you may just cut off the 5.5x2.5mm male connector, then you get two wires to a car cigarette socket. The wire with prints on it is positive, the wire without any print on it is negative. Make sure the polarity is correct if you want to use bare wires to connect to power sources.

If the 5.5 x 2.5mm connector size does not fit your need, please try to plug the 5.5x2.1mm adapter on. This will change the connector size to 5.5x2.1mm. There are many other optional connector tips are available on BiXPower website for purchasing separately. Any C series connector tip from BiXPower can work together with this adapter to change the 5.5 x 2.5mm connector to different size connector, for example, CNt-C1 tip can change it to 4.75 x 1.75mm.
