The songs on this 3 cd collection could be described as the soundtrack to life in the Forties. The decade began with the continuing horror of War and all it entails. Music became a kind of escape and a connection between those separated by time and circumstance. Precious moments were spent family and loved ones listening to these songs. When peace came and there was some time for celebration, reunions and reflection, these were the songs that people wanted to hear and enjoy.
