ET 5 A digital audio cable, such as Toslink (also known as "Fiber Optic"), can easily become the single most important cable in your system since all the channels depend on this one cable to deliver undistorted sound. PipeLine Toslink ET 5 makes use of a specially chosen low distortion polymer fiber to greatly reduce the corruption of timing errors that result when the imperfections found in typical optical fiber cause a "scattering" of the light information. This leads to the optical light signal taking many different paths within each fiber, with each path having a slightly different length. This causes misinterpretation of the digital data stream and sound heard with less clarity and greater irritation.
