This universal shoe adapter is meant to fit into Sony's Active Interface Shoe (AIS) to allow lights, mics and other universal shoe mount accessories to be mounted to the camcorder.  MSA-2 is a shoe mount adapter only.  It does not pass-through the audio or power connections present in the AIS shoe on the camcorder.
