The Pitsco 38007 TETRIX Bevel Gear and Polyoxymethylene Bearings Kit includes aircraft-grade aluminum 30-tooth bevel gears with bearings for students in grades 9-12 building TETRIX robotics projects. The two bevel gears mesh at 90 degrees to change the plane of rotation of a gear system to transfer the direction of motion. Bevel gears enable students to build robot parts such as platforms that can swivel horizontally for supporting sensors. Aluminum resists corrosion and tarnishing, and is lightweight. The polyoxymethylene (POM) bearings reduce friction between gears and the structural frame of a robot. POM, also known as acetal copolymer plastic, has high tensile and flexural strength, and is hard and fatigue resistant. TETRIX products reinforce science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) concepts for students in grades 9-12 studying robotics and building a working robot that demonstrates engineering, simple machines, force, and Newton's laws of motion. A bevel gear and bearing can be used to transfer the direction of motion in tools, domestic, industrial, and agricultural machines, and vehicles, among other mechanical applications.

Science education products incorporate applied math and science principles into classroom and homeschool-based projects. Teachers in pre-K, elementary, and secondary classrooms use science education kits and products alongside science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) curriculum to demonstrate STEM concepts and real-world applications through hands-on activities. Science education projects include a broad range of activities, such as practical experiments in engineering, aeronautics, robotics, energy, chemistry, physics, biology, and geology.

Pitsco Education develops K-12 science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) curriculum, educational kits, and classroom tools. The company, founded in 1971, is headquartered in Pittsburg, KS.
