FilterGlass is an eco-friendly replacement for silica sand in your pool filter. Glass is able to catch more turbid particles, thereby cleaning water more effectively and efficiently. Crushed filtration glass media requires 20% less media than sand to fill your filter tank. Glass filtration media cleans better resulting in less energy usage and reduced pump operating costs and provides 75% saving on back-wash water versus sand and 50% versus the zeolite media. More efficient backwashing wastes less pool water that has already been chemically treated and heated. FilterGlass Performs better than sand and studies show that it filters down to 2-5 microns versus sand at 50-100 microns. Crushed glass grains are smooth, amorphous particles with higher attrition strength, and they do not permanently trap bacteria in cracks. Coagulants and metal removers are also compatible with glass media.
