Originally a world renowned and enormously profitable manufacturer of tractors, Lamborghini's foray into road racing only came after he was insulted by Enzo Ferrari. It seemed that perfectionist engineer and entrepreneur, Ferrucio Lamborghini was not completely satisfied with his Ferrari and let Enzo know in no uncertain terms. Ferrari dismissed "the tractor builder" which only enraged Lamborghini.
By the mid 60's, Lamborghini had introduced the350GT followed by the groundbreaking Miura, eventually adding the Espada and Islero, Although the company was innovative, the eventually went bankrupt and were sold several times. in 1979, Audio purchased the company and developed the Murcielago and Gallardo.
