Lisianthus: Eustoma grandiflorum 'Magic Mix' - If you enjoy pretty cut flowers, start Lisianthus seeds and fill containers and the front of your borders with the prolific bloomer. Magic mix has large, double blooms in blue, blue picotee, champagne, deep blue, green, misty pink, rose and white. The annuals are slow to bloom, so plan on starting the Lisianthus seeds indoors in late winter. Use quality seed starting soil and press the seeds into the moist soil. Covering the pots or trays with clear plastic is a great way to hold moisture in. Remove plastic once sprouts appear and transplant out once frost danger has passed. Other names for Lisianthus are Texas Bluebell or Prairie Gentian.
