Country of origin: USA Variegated Chalice Vine (Solandra maxima variegata) is a unique and usual semi tropical vine-like shrub with a large, growing loose, spreading habit, producing long, arching, vine-like runners, and huge, cup shaped coconut scented flowers. (hence the common name 'Chalice').
Buds begin to appear in the mid to late spring. Blooms on old growth, so avoid pruning in late Fall, and protect from freezing back.
Plant is attractive and interesting even when not in flower with striking green and cream variegated leaves and bright, purple bronze new growth.
