This box newel comes with a recessed panel design and measures 6-1/4" wide. It is made out of solid Red Oak. Made out of Solid Red Oak, meaning the outer wood constructing the newel post does not contain filler wood or veneer. This is not solid all the way through. This is a hollow core product, as is the industry standard specs. For installation it comes with an inner mounting block, but not the S-9403 sure-tite mounting kit.
