This Screened Bottom Board / Small Hive Beetle trap has an aluminum tray that slides out from the back of the hive. Small hive beetles that are knocked off the frames and sides of the hive fall into cooking or mineral oil never to return. Because it covers the entire bottom of the hive it is more efficient at killing small hive beetles than hanging traps, and easier to fill as well. Because the tray slides out from the back of the hive, the bees can't get at it to stick it down with propolis, like the trays inserted from the front of the hive. Working night and day, the bees can usually push 95% of the beetles into the oil in 2 days. Zero % return to the hive! Also eliminates mites and SHB larvae.
