Matt Pryor started The New Amsterdams as a side project to his work with The Get Up Kids, acting as a more introspective singer songwriter outlet than the loud emo punk of his primary band. It was during this time that the bulk of ''Outroduction'' was recorded. With the release of this record Pryor closes the New Amsterdams chapter of his career.
